What to Expect

This is one of the most reliable and least expensive tests for PAD and is non-invasive.
Preparation for the Procedure

The patient should wear loose fitting clothing.
Testing Procedure

The patient lies on their back and blood pressure cuffs are placed around the patients ankles and arms.

The cuffs are inflated and then deflated.

After the cuffs are deflated an utlrasound technician uses an ultrasound device, called a doppler, to measure blood pressure.

You may experience mild discomfort while the blood pressure cuffs are inflated.
